How to Use SweepCast & What is Sentiment?

You may ask yourself the following questions when starting to use the platform…
How can a CALL have bearish sentiment?
How can a PUT have a bullish sentiment?

Well, it depends on what price point the CALL/PUT was traded. Here are the scenarios that can take place below.

Possible Scenarios and Sentiment

If a Sweep on a Call is BEARISH, this means the Call was traded at the BID

We are traders must look at why this could be the case.

It could be that someone actually wrote the calls and hit the market at the bid.
It could be that the price of the stock was increasing too fast that the order was setup at the bid and then the price finally got filled, for this you would want to look for SAME STRIKE/SAME EXPIRATION and see if the price of these options was increasing for other unusual flow. In this case it is not bearish but because of the fill, it is showing as bearish.

If a Sweep on a Call is BULLISH, this means the Call was traded at the ASK. The buyer was aggressive in getting filled and paid whatever price they could get filled at.

This usually has only one outcome, that the buyer was aggressive and wanted to get in at any price. Multiple sweeps at the same exact strike price where the price of the option is going up is very bullish, as they continue to purchase more options while the price is going up. You want to look for this because if you think about it in your own trading, why would you continue to pay for an option at the

How To Best Identify Movers?

Here is the meat of it, you must think like a trader and understand what is happening based on the price action.

For stocks that may make a move up you would want to look for the following, (there might be other things but this is our opinion, you can do your own research and find other ways).

Same Strike / Same Expiration, Multiple Sweeps with the price of the option moving up.

Here is an example of CHWY, the buyer came in to purchase $95 12/18/20 @ $1.36 contract at 9:55AM then again 20 minutes later, they came in and bought the same exact strike, expiration @ $1.96 a contract. You want to look for these repeat buyers because they are extremely bullish on a stock, the same would go on the put side.

What is a SweepScore?

We've added a new column called "SweepScore" which takes over Sentiment column. The bar will fill up based on how aggressive the price of the order was, it will go LIGHT BLUE if the price paid was "ABOVE" the ask, which is the most aggressive.

If its not filled at all, it means its below the bid price. If it's filled half way, then you can think about at neutral stance, the more it's filled the more aggressive the orders are getting.

The top order is less aggressive and marked as "bearish" with a low SweepScore, compared to the bottom arrow marked with a high Sweepscore and marked as "bullish" since it was a call option.

We have heard your feedback and started to make certain changes to the platform.

We've added a new column called "SweepScore" which takes over Sentiment column. The bar will fill up based on how aggressive the price of the order was, it will go LIGHT BLUE with Full BAR if the price paid was "ABOVE" the ask, which is the most aggressive. If its not filled at all, it means its below the bid price.

Empty = Not Aggressive or Possibly Sold Call or Put
Half Full = Neutral Stance

Full = Aggressive Stance, Buying Call or Put
Full + LIGHT BLUE Color = Very Aggressive Stance, Buying Call or Put and paid above asking price.

2nd Major Change we've added is ability to do Charting.

What does "Ref" Mean? When I Hover Over Sentiment?

shows a Ref=$124.15, this allows you to see what was the stock price when the option was entered into this stock.
